I've been reading one of the 'big red books' since I got it a week ago or so and I'm getting so keen to put into action some of what I've learned
I also picked up 'historical lute construction' and daunting as the craft seems, I'm inspired to give lute making a go some time I'm thinking of starting off just building a lute style back, out of strips, but smaller sized to hopefully make it more manageable. I'm thinking a uke with a lute back, like one of these:
Being a uke player I'll probably build a uke first, even if it's just a traditional flat backed one
Hopefully back in 6 months or so with results
