thanks
Thanks for all the replies, I have been doing some Google re shx files etc and found this.
762 SHX AutoCAD Fonts might be handy for some
I have what they call 'high tensile Ali' 6061 grade [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/6061_aluminium_alloy]
it machines very well with a clean shiny finish, well on my mill anyway.I've got a fair bit of it so I can supply all that's required plus extra to play around with.
Ok if the second line is a bit hard to read then just the name perhaps.
One the problems I have is size on small bowl bottom and I think I shall have to compromise on that. Perhaps just the signature is the way to go 40 mm is not to bad 18 high is a bit tough to accommodate on a lot of stuff. So one line might be the go.Inspiration exists, but it has to find you working. — Pablo Picasso

I should have the rebuild of my machine finished by the end of next week.
If you can wait that long, I'll give it a bash.

Played with it a bit more.
Is it something like this you are after?
TheWoodenPotter.jpg
About 33 x 20 x 10
Only a rough play, it will have to be mirrored to work as a branding iron

These are no good at all for me. This means that if I wiant to steal this idea I'm going to have to brand everything I make with the name H Mackay -- The Wooden Potter

I machined a couple of these out of brass for a friend.
They were 25 x 15 mm in size. Name plates for a steam driven loco that would fit inside a shoe box.
Unfortunately I do not have pics of the real item. Only this Aspire representation.
There were machining marks in the area surrounding the letters. He filled that area with black paint. That would not matter for use as a branding iron.
