Very similar Bryan, makes a lot more sense with an XY table on it too.

This could be of interest to anyone thinking of building a HT oven

Gee Mr G, you have been a bit quiet. Overdo the red & turkey?

Just a small job for Josh; blow the flight rust off and make a chip tray and "Rays your dad".

Probably 2 alphas in the castings. Has to be more rigid than the oriental one.

If it is anything like the Rossi; it will be nicely made. I just hope they don't suffer from the Italian breakdown syndrome.

    Hi Ken,

No, Josh is off hiking in the hills somewhere, and I've been down at the MCG for the boxing day test. I'm not in the lathe buying mode at the moment, but if I was, I'd be all over this one, there's just too many unfinished things to be cleaned up... but I'd like to get a better lathe one day...

    Default Nice little Colchester Bantam

Colchester Bantam Metal Lathe | Miscellaneous Goods | Gumtree Australia Stirling Area - Nollamara | 1034852234

Looks like the long bed model.... and looks in nice shape. D1-3 camlock spindle, 1" spindle bore, 3MT tailstock with locking tab for drill shanks so less chance anyone's spun one & buggered the taper. The poor man's version of the Chipmaster though these days with a VFD, except for the smaller spindle bore, I might almost prefer one of these. Anyway, nice machines capable of accurate work and can take quite a decent cut with excellent repeatability. I use my Chipmaster all the time.
