Wishing you all the best for this special day.
Here is a model of a D4 engine, perhaps not as detailed as yours, and a bit smaller in scale. It is of an earlier one with the air compressor mounted on the side tank and destination board on the buffer beam.

H i All,
Thanks to everyone who wished me a Happy Birthday.
Last game of bowls for the season on my birthday - Saturday - a loss - but an enjoyable day - even though I hate losing.
Really great family day yesterday - Sons and family around - top day.
Buying a small bandsaw with my Birthday presents (money) narrow blade should allow more intricate cuts on my upcoming K Class.
Now bowls over - more shed time.
Thanks again
Most appreciated
Keith

Thanks for the comments Peter - Yes I am indeed privileged with my family. Bowls is down the pecking order.
Instead of a smaller bandsaw (already have a decent size bandsaw 15mm blade 6TPI) - now considering a decent scroll saw for more precise cuts and sharper turns etc. for finer work and finish on the upcoming K Class.
Now working on the rear of the coal bunker section - water filler, buffers, coupling unhitcher and air brake lines.
Will post some photos later today.
Regards
Keith

Hi All,
Made up and fitted the "under bunker" water filling valve. Been working on the buffers and coupling disengage mechanism. Won't fit that actual part until the coupler is fitted into the coupler bracket.
Regards
Keith
