pinecone pendants
These pendants were made by casting pinecones in epoxy and then cutting either across or lengthwise to give slices about 8mm thick . They were then mounted on a carrier with DS tape , turned round ,then tapered out to the edge on one side .Then transferred to another carrier on the tail stock which was then swapped to the headstock so the second side could be turned . After sanding they were coated with polyurathane .
I found these were difficult to photograph and ended photographing in bright sunlight with a white background . The purple cross section one looks like it has bubbles in the photograph but that is an illusion .
The cross section ones are about 70mm diam. and the longitudinal section ones are 60mm .
Comments welcome .

They've turned out well Ted, that's an interesting effect.
